Galapani Injectable Solution – Veterinary Use
Target species: Cattle.
Composition: 1 ml contains: 75 mcg D-cloprostenol (sodium salt), 1 mg chlorocresol.
Dosage form: 20 ml glass vial. Each pack contains five vials.
Pharmacotherapeutic group: Prostaglandins and hormonal preparations.
Method of administration and dosage:
Used in cattle. The preparation is administered intramuscularly in the following doses:
Induction of estrous cycle in heifers and cows: 2 ml Galapani (150 mcg alpha-cloprostenol) in all phases of the estrous cycle (in cows, 40–60 days after calving). Animals showing heat are inseminated. Animals that do not show heat receive a repeated injection of Galapani at the same dose on the 11th day after the first administration.
If insemination is carried out without visible signs of estrus, the animals should be inseminated at 72 and 96 hours after the repeated injection. For optimal results, insemination must be performed at the first heat following Galapani administration.
Treatment of luteal cysts and persistent corpus luteum: 2 ml Galapani (150 mcg alpha-cloprostenol). Animals that come into heat are inseminated. If no heat is observed, Galapani is administered again in the same dose 10 days after the first injection, and insemination is performed 72 and 96 hours after the repeated injection.
Treatment of exudative forms of endometritis: 2 ml (150 mcg alpha-cloprostenol) combined with symptomatic therapy.
Termination of pregnancy in case of fetal pathology: 2 ml Galapani (150 mcg alpha-cloprostenol) at any stage of pregnancy, but no later than day 270 of gestation.
Induction of parturition: 1 ml Galapani (75 mcg alpha-cloprostenol) intramuscularly in heifers no earlier than day 111 of pregnancy.
