Composition:
Albendazole - 250mg
Pharmacological activity:
Anti-helminth activities of Albendazole are based on interference of energetic metabolism of parasites suppression of cycle of Fumarate Reductase – krebs enzymes, which kills parasites. In case of some parasites Albendazole causes suppression of synthesis of tubular protein.
Drug is active in every stage of helminth development.
Dosage:
Drug is given as a single peroral dose without diet. It is given individually or in a group, together with food;
Cattle, goat, sheep – Intestine and lungs nematodes, cestodes – 1 pill on 25 kg/b/w; Trematodes - 1 pill on 16kg b/w.
Swine – Intestine and lungs nematodes – 1 pill on 20kg b/w.
Poultry - Intestine tract nematodes – 1 pill on 30kg b/w, Lung nematodes – 1 pill on 7.5 kg b/w;
Side effects:
Drug belongs to minor-toxic compound. No side effects are reported, if dosage is exceeded for three times.
Contraindications:
Given drug isn’t used in weak cattle, in case of severe fasciliosis and during the first third period of gestation.
Withdrawal time:
It is allowed to slaughter cattle for usage of meat after 14 days from stopping taking of drug, swine and poultry can be slaughtered after 7 days. Milk can be used after 2 days.
