Suspense for intracisternal injection:
Oily substance of white of white-yellowish color.
Composition:
Cefalexin monohydrate . . . . . . . . . . . . . . 350 mg;
Gentamicin sulfate. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .35 mg.
Pharmacological characteristics:
Combined antibacterial drug;
It is active against following bacteria causing masititis in cattle, goat, and sheep: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae. Mastilex activities are determined by effects of antibiotics, which it contains.
Cefalexin is cefalosporine antibiotic with wide spectrum of bactericide activities. It is active against great amount of gram-positive bacteria, is resistant to beta-lactamaze.
Gentamicin is an antibiotic of aminoglycoside group. It is characterized with bactericide activities against many gram-negative microorganisms and strengthens effects of cefalexin against gram-positive microorganisms.
Due to milk disperse excipient this drug helps to restore epithelium of mammary gland that is hurt due to inflammatory process.
After intracisternal administration active substances are quickly distributed in mammary gland due to milk disperse excipient. Active substances aren't absorbed in system blood-vessels through mammary gland; they aren't bio-transformed and are excreted together with milk in an unchanged form;
Effects:
Cattle, goat and sheep mastitis (except for tuberculosis mastitis);
Dosage:
Drug is administered intracisternally every 12-24 hours (3 times maximum)
Cattle - 1 syringe (10ml) on each one-forth of diseased dug;
Sheep, goats - 0,5 syringe (5ml) on each half of diseased dug; Diseased dug is milked before intracisternal administration, then nipple is disinfected. After that syringe content is inserted into nipple channel. After induction of drug it is recommended to massage nipples from bottom upwards.

No side effects are reported, if drug is administered in a recommended dose;

Special indications:
It isn't recommended to use this drug together with other intracisternal injection drugs. Diseased dugs of cows and goats are milked and boiled.
Milk obtained from healthy dug can be used for feeding animals after boiling;
It is allowed to use milk after 5 days from the last intracisternal injection of drug. It is allowed to slaughter animals for meat consumption purposes after 7 days from the last intracisternal injection of drug. If animals are slaughtered earlier that this period, meat can be used for feeding of predators or for production of meat and bone powder;

Suspense is packed in polyethylene syringe in the amount of 10 ml;

B list; Drug is kept in dry area that is protected from light and direct sunrays at 5-25ºC temperature.
