Composition:
Amoxycilline tryhidrate – 500mg, Excipient – up to 10ml;
Pharmacological characteristics:
Biomast is an anti-bacteria drug that is used during lactation period of cattle, sheep and goats for treatment of mastitis. It is active against following kinds of bacteria: Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Klebsiella pneumoniae, Candida spp except for those that cause tuberculosis.
Pharmacokinetics:
After intracisternal injection, active substance is quickly spread in mammary gland. Active substance isn’t absorbed by blood-vessel system through mammary gland, it doesn’t undergo biotransformation and it is excreted together with milk in an almost unchanged form.
Effects:
Cattle, sheep and goats – Chronic and severe mastitis caused by Streptococcus spp., Staphylococcus spp., Escherichia coli and pseudomonades (except for those that cause tuberculosis).
Dosage:
Cattle: One syringe on the one-fourth part of diseased area, every 12-24 hours.
Sheep and goats: Half syringe on the one-fourth part of diseased area, every 12-24 hours.
Non-milking period: One syringe on the one-fourth part of diseased area, during 10-14 days from the last milking. Drug is ingected through mammary channel.
Side effects:
No side effects were reported when poultry was given the recommended dose.
Contraindication:
No contraindications were reported when poultry was given the recommended dose.
Withdrawal time:
The milk that is obtained from healthy area of dug can be used for feeding of animals after being boiled. Milk can be consumed after 2 days from the last injection.
How supplied:
10 ml polyethylene syringe (one dosage): 100ml bottle.
Storage conditions and shelf life:
The drug is kept according to “B” list in a dry and cool area, which is protected from light.
Shelf life – 2 years.
