Composition:
Oxitetracicline hydrochloride ; Furazolidone , Metronizadole , additional substance - lactose ;
Description: Light yellow granulated powder, slightly soluble in water;
Pharmacological characteristics:
Furoxy is a complex drug. Combination of Oxitetracicline hydrochloride, Furazolidone and Metronizadole is characterized with high efficiency, bactericide and bacteriostatic activities; Metronizadole blocks nitro group of protein and destroys oxidizing-restoring balance in the protozoa cells. It causes accumulation of toxic products that has interrelation with DNA of protozoa and it causes their death.
Drug components are characterized with anti-germ activities against following bacteria: Balantidium, Entamoeba hystolytica, Treponema hyodysenterie, Histomonas meleagridis, Lamblia intestinalis Eimeria spp, Trichomonas columbae, T gallinae. It is active against anaerobic bacteria: Bacteroides, Fmobacterium, Clostridium, Eubacter. Drug is effective against majority of gram-positive and gram-negative cocci;
Effects:
Furoxy is used in every kind of domestic animal for treatment of infective diseases that are caused by microorganisms that are sensitive to drug components.
Poultry: Hystomonosis, salmonelosis, trichomonosis, eimeriosis;
Cattle - Colibacterosis, salmonelosis, trichomonosis, eimeriosis, enteritis of undefined etiology, post-surgery infections;
Swine - balantidiosis, bacterial and protozoac dithyramb, salmonelosis, eimeriosis;
Rabbit, nutria - eimeriosis (liver coccidiosis);
Dosage:
It is used individually or in group therapy. Equal distribution of drug in food must be ensured during group therapy;
Poultry: Treatment - 1g in 1 kg of food for 5-6 days; Prevention - 1g in 2 kg of food for 8-10 days;
Cattle: 1g in 20-30 kg of food for 5-6 days;
Swine: Treatment - 1g in 1 kg of food for 5-7 days; Prevention - 1g in 2 kg of food or 0,15g/10kg b/w every 22 hours for 5-6 days; 0,06g/10kg b/w every 12 hours for 10-12 days;
Rabbits:
bocveri - Treatment - 0.05g on1 kg b/w three times a day for 5-6 days; Rebound period - 0,25g for each rabbit for 10-12
days;
Side effects:
No overdosing must occur with calves that are 1 month old as high sensitivity to Furazolidone may occur. Some animals that are hyper sensitive to Metronizadole may have allergy reactions such as: weakness, fever, nettle-rash, retching;
Contraindications:
Contraindications are reported during the lactation period, in egg-layer hens and during gestation period;
Withdrawal time:
Animals can be slaughtered for meat consumption purposes after 14 days from the last administration of medicine;

Storage condition and shelf life:
Drug is kept in dry area that is protected from light at 25°C temperature. Shelf life - 2 years;
