Used for detecting mastitis in cattle, sheep, and goats.
The kit includes:
- A special test plate
- A reagent solution (KERBA) in a 1-liter package
Instructions for use:
- Place approximately 3 ml of milk from each quarter of the udder into the corresponding segment of the diagnostic plate.
- Add 3 ml of the test solution to each section and mix.
Interpretation of results:
- Negative result: The physical state of the mixture remains unchanged.
- Unclear positive result: The mixture becomes slightly viscous (cell count up to 1,500,000/ml).
- Moderate positive result: The mixture becomes distinctly mucous with a significant increase in viscosity (up to 5,000,000 cells/ml).
- Strong positive result: The mixture turns into a jelly-like consistency with clot formation, indicating a cell count of more than 5,000,000/ml.
