Intrauterine solution for cattle and horses
Active Ingredient: Gentamicin
Each 1 ml contains:
Gentamicin 8 mg (equivalent to 12.864 mg gentamicin sulfate)
Excipients: Sodium methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E219) 1.8 mg, Sodium propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E217) 0.2 mg, Sodium metabisulfite (E223) 3.2 mg, Colorant: Brilliant blue FCF (E133) 0.034 mg
Treatment of uterine infections in cattle and horses, including:
Metritis
Cervicitis
Pyometra
Infections related to retained placenta
Caused by bacteria sensitive to gentamicin.
Do not use in animals hypersensitive to aminoglycosides or any of the excipients.
No known adverse reactions. In case of any signs not listed here (including in humans after contact), notify a veterinarian.
Cattle (cows), Horses (mares)
Route: Intrauterine
Cows and mares: 200 mg gentamicin per animal (25 ml of product), administered once
External reproductive organs must be disinfected before use. The product is administered intrauterinely via catheter connected to a container, using pressure until fully emptied.
Cattle: Meat – 0 days, Milk – 0 days
Treated horses must be marked in veterinary records and passport as not intended for human consumption.
Keep out of reach of children
Store below 25°C
Protect from sunlight and temperatures above 50°C
Do not refrigerate or freeze
Do not use after expiry date indicated on the label
In cases of pus or necrotic tissue in the uterus, remove before administration
Use should be based on sensitivity testing
Improper use can promote resistance to gentamicin and reduce effectiveness of other aminoglycosides
For handlers: Wear protective gear (gloves, apron, goggles).
Avoid eating, drinking, or smoking while handling the product.
In case of contact with skin or eyes – rinse immediately with water.
If swelling of face, lips, or eyes occurs – seek urgent medical help.
Not recommended for use in pregnant or lactating animals.
Do not use with: ethacrynic acid, furosemide, penicillins, cephalosporins.
Symptoms of overdose – unknown.
No known pharmaceutical incompatibilities.
Do not dispose of via wastewater or household waste. Ask a vet how to properly dispose of unused product to help protect the environment.
