Composition:

One pill contains; Fenbendazole 500mg; Prazuqvantel - 50mg;

Pharmacological characteristics:

Fendox is effective drug against cestodes and nematodes of meat-eater animals. Prazuqvantel acts as a inhibitor of fumarate reductase, it destroyes membrane-transitive function of muscle cells and nervous-muscular innervating and it is effective at any stage of development of ribbon-like  helminthes (including Echinococcus granulosus, Echinococcus multilocularis, Dipylidium caninum, Diphylobothrium latum, Mesocestoides spp., Tenia spp.,). Parasites are paralysed and they die. Drug is low-toxic for warm-blooded animals (IV class of danger). LD50 equals to 2.6g/kg for white mice. No embryo-toxic, teratogenic and sensibilizing activities are reported, if administered in recommended dose. Cats and dogs of different species and age are easily adaptive to it. It is absorbed quickly via intestine tract. Maximal concentration is reached in blood plasma in 30-40 minutes. It is excreted from organism via urine during 24 hours. Fenbendazole causes death of grown-up intestine tract and lung nematodes, cestodes and trematodes and their eggs and worms as well. In case of peroral administration drug destroys energy cycle of grown-up parasites and is characterized with neuro-toxic activities. Besides, helminth intestine cell micro-ducts are destroyed as well and helminthes die.

Effects:

Fendox is used in cats and dogs for treatment and prevention of cestodes, trematodose, nematodes and echinococci.

Dosage:

Drug is designed for peroral administration. It is given as a single dose together with food. Dogs, cats - 1 pill 10kg b/w. Small amount of food are given in the morning (meat or sausages). Drug is given as liquid suspension to cats and dogs with bodyweight less that 5kg. Pill is powdered and small amount of water is added to it, received suspense is shaken and it is given to them orally by means of syringe. No diet or diarrhea causing medicines are needed. Dehelminthation of animals is carried out every 3 month.

Contraindications:

It isn't recommended to give drug during gestation period. It isn't allowed to give drug to animals that are sensitive to drug components;
