Rules of usage and dosage
It is used in cattle. The medicine is injected in the muscle at the following doses:
For induction of sexual cycle in cows and calves: 2ml Galapan (150mkg alfa-cloprostenole) at all stages of sexual cycle (after 40-60 days from calving in cows). The animals that are in heat are fertilized. If animals aren’t in heat repeated injection of same dose of Galapan is used on the 11th day from the last injection.
If fertilization is carried out without revealing the signs of sexual cycle, in such cases fertilization of animals is carried out after 72 and 96 hours from repeated injection of the medicine. Fertilization shall be carried out during the first moment when the animals are in heat after administration of Galapan.
Treatment of lutein cyst and persistent yellow body - 2 ml Galapan (150 mkg alfa-cloprostenole). Animals that are in heat are fertilized. If they aren’t in heat, same repeated dose of Galapan is injected after 10 days from the first injection and fertilization of animals is carried out after 72 and 96 hours from the repeated injection of the animal.
Treatment of exudative endometritis- 2 ml (150 mkg alfa-cloprostenole) together with symptomatic treatment.
Interruption of pregnancy in case of fetus pathology (at any stage of gestation) - 2 ml Galapan (150 mkg alfa-cloprostenole) no earlier than 270 day of gestation.
Induction of labor action – intramuscularly, 1 ml Galapan (975 mkg alfa-cloprostenole) in breeding cows no earlier than 111 day of gestation.
Storage Conditions and terms
Galapan is kept at a dry place, which is protected from the light at maximal temperature of 250C.
