Composition:


Doxycycline (gyclate) 100mg, excipient up to 1 ml;

 

Pharmacological characteristics:


Tetracyclines are bacteria-static antibiotics. Bactericide activities of doxycycline hinder synthesis of germ cell proteins.


It is characterized with wide spectrum of antibacterial activities. It is active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. Gram-negative bacteria: Pasteurellaspp., Escherichia coli, Salmonella spp. Gram-positive bacteria: aureus, Streptococcus spp.; Aerobic bacteria: Clostridium spp, micoplasmosis, clamidiosis and other simple bacteria.


Doxycycline is well absorbed from intestine tract of poultry. It reaches maximal concentration in blood after 2-4 hours. It is spread in all organs and tissues and undergoes re-absorption well via kidney ducts. Concentration in blood is preserved for 18-24 hours and it is excreted via faeces.  

 

Effects:


Poultry


Micoplasmosis, colibacteriosis, chronic respiratory diseases, infections caused by micro-organisms that are sensitive to Doxycycline;


Swine


Drug is used for treatment of respiratory ways. Swine respiratory diseases are caused by Pasteurella multocida, Bordetella bronchiseptica and Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae, the first two of them cause rhinitis.. Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae and Pasteurella multocida cause enzootic pneumonia in swine.


Cattle


Bronchopneumonia, pasterelosis, secondary infections after viral diseases;


Sheep:


Pneumonia, pasterelosis, chlamydia abortion;

 

Dosage:


Is administered orally;


Poultry: 0,5-1ml Polodoxin is diluted in 1000litre of drinking water, treatment course - 3-5days;


Swine: 10 ml Polodoxin on 10kg b/w with drinking water, treatment course -5days;


Cattle: 10 ml Polodoxin on 10kg b/w with drinking water, treatment course -5days;

 

Contraindication:


It isn't allowed to use drug in animals that are sensitive to tetracycline. It isn't used during renal insufficiency, gestation and lactation period, it isn't used with egg-laying hens.

 

Side effects:


Animals must be kept away from direct sunlight, as antibiotic can increase skin photosensitivity.

 

Withdrawal period:


Hen meat can be used after 6 days from the last administration of the medicine, pork - after 10 days.

Eggs aren't used;

 

Presentation:


Vials of 1ml and 5ml;

 

Storage conditions and shelf life:


List B; Drug is kept in cool and dry area at 5-250 C temperature.

 

Shelf life: 3 years;
