Pharmacological Group: Immunobiological preparation
Target Species: Domestic poultry
Composition:
Used as a lyophilized powder for preparing an injectable suspension.
The vaccine is made from the extra-embryonic fluid of SPF chicken embryos infected with the Newcastle disease virus (strain “H”), with the addition of the following stabilizing substances: sucrose (10%), peptone (4%), gelatin (1%).
The vaccine appears as a gray porous dry mass that easily dissolves in physiological saline.
Biological Properties:
The vaccine induces the formation of an immune response against Newcastle disease in poultry within 48 hours after vaccination, which lasts up to 12 months.
The vaccine is harmless and has no therapeutic properties.
Directions for Use:
The vaccine is intended for the immunization of adult chickens, guinea fowls, and turkeys in farms unfavorable for Newcastle disease.
Immunization is carried out on clinically healthy birds starting from 60 days of age, ensuring complete isolation from younger, unvaccinated groups.
The vaccine is administered intramuscularly.
Sterile physiological saline is introduced into the ampoules containing the lyophilized virus in the amount indicated on the label, and the working vaccine dilution is prepared at a ratio of 1:1000.
For example: add 0.1 cm³ of physiological saline to 0.1 cm³ of vaccine virus and then dilute the mixture up to 100 cm³ (by adding 99.9 cm³ of physiological saline).
Dosage:
The reconstituted vaccine is administered as follows:
0.5 cm³ per bird — chicks up to 120 days of age
1.0 cm³ per bird — adult chickens and guinea fowls
2.0 cm³ per bird — adult turkeys
The vaccine is injected into the breast or thigh muscle. The injection needle should be inserted into the middle part of the breast muscle at a depth of 0.3–0.5 cm at an acute angle directed toward the head (injection toward the tail may puncture the bone or liver, causing the bird’s death).
Side Effects:
When used according to the instructions, side effects and complications are generally not observed.
A slight swelling may appear at the injection site, which disappears within 2–3 weeks.
No symptoms of Newcastle disease or other pathological signs have been detected, even in case of overdose.
Packaging:
The vaccine is available in ampoules containing 1 cm³ of vaccine virus (100 doses).
Contraindications:
It is prohibited to use the vaccine simultaneously with other immunobiological preparations.
Do not vaccinate weak, debilitated birds or chicks under 60 days of age.
Withdrawal Period:
No restrictions on the use of meat and eggs from vaccinated birds.
Storage Conditions:
Store and transport in a dry, dark place at a temperature of +2°C to +8°C.
Shelf Life:
12 months from the date of manufacture, provided that storage and transportation conditions are observed.
Do not use after the expiration date.
